Posture Alert

Privacy Policy

Last updated:

Posture Alert is built so that the answer to "where does my data go" is almost always "nowhere". This page sets out exactly what the app touches, what stays on your iPhone, and the one place data does leave it.

The short version

  • There are no accounts, no sign-up, and no login.
  • There is no analytics, tracking, advertising, or crash-reporting SDK in the app.
  • Your sessions, settings, and recordings are stored on your iPhone and are never uploaded.
  • The only data that leaves your device is what Apple and RevenueCat need to process and restore a purchase.

What stays on your iPhone

Posture Alert writes the following to local app storage, which only Posture Alert can read:

  • Session records: start and end time, how long the session ran, the share of it spent in good posture, how many nudges it took, and summary figures for how far and in which direction your posture drifted.
  • Your settings: slouch angle, nudge timing, eye-rest interval and break length, notification preference, language, and which reminder sound is selected.
  • Custom reminder sounds you record, saved as audio files in the app’s private storage.

Head motion

Posture tracking reads head-orientation data from the motion sensors in supported AirPods, through Apple’s CoreMotion framework. The app asks for Motion permission before it can do this.

That data is processed on your iPhone, in real time, to decide whether your head has drifted past the threshold you set. The raw motion stream is not recorded, not stored, and not transmitted. Only the summary figures listed above are saved, and only on your device.

No camera is involved at any point.

Microphone

The microphone is used only while you are actively recording a custom reminder sound, and only after you grant Microphone permission. The clip is written to the app’s private storage on your iPhone. It is never uploaded, and it is not used for anything other than playing back as your reminder.

Notifications

Eye-rest reminders can also appear as notifications. These are local notifications scheduled by the app on your device, not push notifications, so nothing is sent through a server to deliver them.

Purchases

Posture Alert Pro is sold through Apple In-App Purchase. Apple handles the payment, and we never see your payment details.

Purchases are managed with RevenueCat, so the app can confirm whether your subscription or lifetime unlock is active and restore it after a reinstall. For that, RevenueCat receives:

  • a random identifier the app generates for you and stores in the iOS Keychain, which is not linked to your name, email address, or Apple ID;
  • the purchase and receipt information Apple returns for the transaction.

RevenueCat, and how long it keeps this

RevenueCat is the only third party we share any data with. We have confirmed that RevenueCat provides the same or better protection of your data than this policy describes and than Apple requires. Its own policy is at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.

RevenueCat keeps the purchase record for as long as the purchase can still be restored, which for a lifetime unlock means indefinitely, because restoring it after a reinstall is the whole point. You can ask us to delete it at any time using the address below, and we will pass the request on and confirm when it is done.

Nothing else in the app is shared with anyone.

What Posture Alert does not do

  • No accounts, no sign-up, no login.
  • No analytics, product telemetry, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs.
  • No third-party trackers, no advertising identifiers, no cross-app tracking.
  • No selling or sharing of personal data. Nothing is collected that could be sold.

Children

Posture Alert is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Your control

  • "Clear all data" in Settings permanently deletes your stored sessions.
  • Deleting a custom sound removes its audio file from your device.
  • Deleting the app removes everything Posture Alert stored on your device.
  • You can withdraw Motion, Microphone, or Notification permission at any time in the iOS Settings app, under Posture Alert. Posture tracking stops working without Motion; everything else keeps running.
  • For anything RevenueCat holds in connection with a purchase, write to support@sitwell.app and we will act on it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects what the app does with your data, the date at the top of this page changes, and the updated policy is published here before the change ships.
